We’re All Alike – The Good Men Project
It wasn’t religion that mattered.
These are the people who last.
It is not political conviction that brought us together
It was our moral / human values that made us stay.
It wasn’t the color of our blood that separated us
It was our ideologies that did it.
It wasn’t the amount of money that could buy life
It was the equality of care and treatment that kept us alive.
It was without any sign that we were born,
It is societal norms that identify us differently
There was no difference in the pain and the color of the tears,
Only the people present differed.
The idea was not to have the same stories and profile messages,
It was to amplify them.
The idea was not to blame the people in power
It was to make them useful.
The story has remained the same,
Only the characters have changed.
It wasn’t the situation that was different
It is our approach that has varied.
It was not the resources that were limited,
It was their access that changed the consequences.
This is not the moment we will remember
These are the acts that will be recalled.
The stories will end
The facts will remain.
People will leave
The losses will testify to this.
It’s not the end of everything
This is just the beginning.
