New Delhi: Ajay Data, President, Pre-IIGF welcomed the guests, speakers and introduced the IIGF and the topic to students and speakers.
The Indian government has launched the “Digital India Movement” with the aim of transforming India into a digitally self-sufficient society. The IIGF’21 hosted a session on “Trends in Trust, Security, Stability and Post-Covid Digital Payments”.
According to Professor Deepak Dembla, dean of the School of Computer Applications, JECRC University, the government’s motivation is to achieve “faceless, paperless and cashless” modes of monetary transactions. While discussing digital payment methods, he mentioned that “Aadhar-enabled payments crossed 205 million transactions in February 2020, according to NPCI data” and the number has grown exponentially since. In addition, he discussed the benefits of these payment methods and said that they save the economic resources of the nation.
However, there are security and trust issues in the system due to lack of awareness. Therefore, according to him, “we must create a secure digital payment system and the most fundamental areas of concern must be addressed by every developer.” Professor Deepak also shared the dos and don’ts of digital payments to make the process smooth and secure.
Shubham Saran, NIXI, and the Membership Coordinating Committee conducted a short Q&A, summarized the session, and shared a thank you note.
